We will be happy to advise you on all questions relating to research data. In particular, we are happy to support you with the following topics:

Data Publication

The publication of research data increases their value for research. The University of Bielefeld therefore calls on its researchers to publish their data. Numerous scientific journals and research sponsors already require the publication of the underlying research data. We will be happy to advise you on where, how and under which open licence you can publish your data. More...

Data Management Plans (DMP)

A data management plan helps you get the most out of your data. Ideally, it is created during the initial phase of a research project and continuously updated. Data management plans are increasingly expected by national and international research funders when submitting applications. In Horizon 2020 projects, for example, the creation of a data management plan is mandatory. We advise and support you in the preparation of your individual data management plan for the submission of applications to funding programmes and for your own use. More...

Grant applications

Research sponsors increasingly expect clear planning of data management already in the funding application. This includes handling the data during the course of the project as well as possible publication, re-use and archiving of the data. Therefore, funding applications should emphasize the excellent institutional support and the existing services. We will help you with the accurate presentation of the research data management in your grant applications. More...

Data protection of research data

In research projects in which personal data is collected, a high degree of care is urgently required to protect this data. In addition to knowledge of the current legal situation on the basis of the Basic Data Protection Ordinance (DSGVO), anonymisation techniques are also essential. In cooperation with the university's data protection officer, we support you in carrying out your research projects in compliance with data protection regulations. More...

Long Term Storage

The long-term preservation of research data offered by the Competence Center Research Data enables researchers to secure the results of their work for 10 years after project completion. More...
